The delivery stage begins once the build has been completed and acceptance testing to prove it meets requirements has been undertaken.

The focus on delivery is around maintaining operational service levels during transition; sadly the world doesn’t stop because a project has arrived so the delivery into service must be sensitive to the needs of the operations whilst ensuring that the project schedule is achieved and within budget.

At the end of the stage the systems will be live and stable as the outcomes are achieved. This will signal the start of the closure of the project as the change moves into the Demonstrate Stage when final decommissioning will take place and the lifecycle completes.
